Purchasing codes from VinylCodes.

To purchase codes, Sign In to VinylCodes and click on the Buy Codes link.

Next, click on the amount of codes you wish to purchase.


We support credit card and debit purchases through PayPal and Stripe.

Uploading an album to VinylCodes.

To upload your album, Sign In to VinylCodes and click on the My Albums link.

Next, click on the 'Upload' button:


Once uploaded, your album will be listed and from there, you can assign codes.

Assigning codes for an uploaded album.

After you have purchased some codes and uploaded your album, you can assign codes to it.

To do that, navigate to your My Albums page and click the 'Assign/Export codes' link.


The next screen will provide you with some information and options.

The number of codes you have available to use.


Codes to Assign.

The number of codes to assign to this album. This must be less than the current amount of codes you have purchased.

An example code will be displayed to show you an example of what each code will look like. Note: This will not be a valid code.


Click the Show advanced options button to reveal more options.

Codes to Assign.

This Advanced Section allows you to set custom options for your assigned codes.

    Code Length - The length of each code to assign. This must be between 6 and 20 characters in length.
    Code Prefix - Each code will be prefixed by this string.
    Code Suffix - Each code will be suffixed by this string.
    Characters - Each code will be made up of these strings. This defaults to 'ABCDEFGHJKLMNPQRSTUVWXYZ23456789' to ensure maximum readability.

Once you have entered at least the mandatory fields, you can press 'Assign Codes' button at the bottom of the page to assign your codes.

Exporting codes for an uploaded album.

After you have assigned codes to an album, you can export codes from it in either CSV/Excel or as a PDF sheet.

To do that, navigate to your My Albums page, click on 'Assign/Export codes' and then click the 'Export codes' button on the next page.


Clicking on the Export Codes as CSV/Excel will start a download automatically that includes all of the codes in a .csv file. You can then import this into Excel, Numbers or any other application that supports CSV (Comma Separated Values).

Clicking on the Export Codes as PDF will lead you to another screen where you can customize the PDF output.

The exported PDF contains 10 standard 89mm x 51mm (3.5in x 2in) business cards per page.

The cards can be customized with whatever text you would like. The following customizations are available:

    Line 1 - The first line of each card of the pdf. Defaults to 'Thanks for purchasing'.
    Line 2 - The second line of each card of the pdf. Defaults to ' Artist - Album .
    Line 3 - The third line of each card of the pdf. Defaults to 'Please go to:'.
    URL - The URL to point customers to. Defaults to 'vinylcodes.com/redeem'.
    Line 4 - Defaults to 'to redeem this code.'

Updating an uploaded album's information.

After you have uploaded an album, you can update its information including its .zip file, name, artist, etc.

To do that, navigate to your My Albums page and click the 'Edit album details' button.


On the details page, you can update the following:

    Album Image - Click the 'Update Image button to update the album's image. This image is shown when the user downloads the album.
    Album .zip file - Click the 'Update .zip file' button to update the album's .zip file.

You can also update the album information that will be shown when the user downloads the album.

    Name - The name of the album.
    Artist name - The artist of the album.
    Year - The release date or year of the album.
    Album information - General information about the album. Note: this is not shown on download.
